Roland, à cinquante ans, débordant de projets, s’imagine intouchable dans son poste de directeur, mais son soi-disant ami, Thierry Chevalier, jeune héritier de l’empire familial, a chargé Laure, la toute nouvelle DRH de le licencier pour faute grave. Les certitudes de celui qui se prétendait l’homme le plus apte à diriger l’entreprise s’envolent et l’angoisse de ne plus être considéré à sa juste valeur le déstabilise. Que penseront les autres ? Annick, sa fille ? Son ex ? Ses enfants ? ses amis ? les notables de la ville ? et Laure elle-même, qui pour lui, est passé rapidement du statut de simple trophée à accrocher à son tableau de chasse féminin, à celui de jeune femme dont il se sent éperdument amoureux. Et ce traître de Thierry qui doit bien rire ! en réalité, la véritable peur de Roland, est que derrière l’homme d’affaires, le cadre supérieur, le manager, qui s’est toujours présenté à travers le spectre social, on ne perçoive que l’humain avec ses carences, le mortel et ses insuffisances.

Summary.


Senior and proud to be in one’s fifties.

Roland, is fifty years old overactive senior executive, who believes himself to be untouchable in his career of manager, but Thierry Chevalier, his alleged friend, inheritor of the family empire, has ordered Laure, the new personnel manager to fire him with no compensation. The convictions of Roland, who pretended him to be the only one suitable to manage the company, vanish and anxiety not to be appreciated to his true value weakens him. What will other ones think of him? What will his daughter Annick, think of him, too? And what about his ex-wife? His kids? His friends? The notables? And what will Laure think of him, she who, in his mind, so swiftly turned from the rank of mere trophy to be suspended to a wall, to the status of a young woman he fell madly in love with. And what about Thierry, this traitor who must be making fun of him. Actually, the authentic fear Roland experiences, is that behind the businessman, the high manager, who always presented himself through the social spectrum, one may perceive his failures, his mortal aspects and his insufficiencies.
